Today we said goodbye to Mother & Becky & finally Texas. Then we nodded an hello and a goodbye to Oklahoma which caused us wonder if Oklahoma was known for any foods. (Marilyn & Jim - you'll have to bring us up to speed on that one. It can't be any worse or better than the "funeral casserole" we were served in Texas.) And finally here we are in Arkansas, Alma to be exact. That's pronounced Al (as in Al Pacino) ma but you have to pinch your nose shut as you're saying it to get just the right amount of nasal twang. To celebrate leaving Texas BBQ & Tex-Mex, we ate at the Catfish Hole ii where we had, what else, catfish with fixin's (onion, pickled green tomatoes, slaw, hush puppies). Pretty good.
